2020 Blind Adventure:

Running 5k with Roxy

This year, since I am still recovering from  unemployment and trying to get back on my feet financially, my adventure will be at home:) For the past 5 years I wanted to run a 5k partially with my guide dog and the remainder with a sighted guide. I have many blind friends who have ran in marathons bigger than a 5k and I want to experience that type of adrenaline

This is going to take some prep work. I am going to have to train with Roxy to get used to running in a special harness and follow commands. I have to find a sighted guide partner to train with. And I will have to reach out to the marathon organization to let them know I will be a blind participant. A lot of moving pieces but I am excited.

The first marathon I selected is Bark in the Park 5k. This race is dedicated in helping shelter animals in need for loving homes. If you are in Ohio and are also interested; check out their site below:
